Kelly Engineering Resources has an exciting opportunity for a senior Engineering leader to join a growing pharmaceutical manufacturer in Macon County, IL! The Director of Engineering is responsible for the overall direction to the engineering function through the development of engineering policies and procedures consistent with organizational requirements and corporate standards. This position reports to the VP of Engineering. *Primary Responsibilities: * * Lead and support equipment and facility modifications and upgrades for automated systems. * Identify new automation technologies that may enhance site operations. * Demonstrate technical knowledge to write detailed equipment/facility specifications in relation to process control systems and related technology. * Monitor and control all technical, financial, and managerial tasks associated with project execution from conception and through design, construction and validation. * Develops short-term and long-term departmental and facility planning objectives; operating budget responsibility in excess of $1.0MM; provides leadership and guidance in all of the above areas for supervisory and managerial staff reporting to the incumbent. * Enhance the mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills within the department; provide technical resources to other departments within the organization regarding facilities and equipment issues; improve upon the * departmental systems used to facilitate the workload; represent and foster harmonious relationships both inter and intra-departmentally. * “Hands-on” Engineering/Maintenance activities; interface with external organizations such as the EPA, DEA, the FDA, insurance investigators, the building/fire commissioner, and others; troubleshoot equipment failures after the best of the department’s efforts have failed. * Responsible for fire detection system design and installation. The incumbent must also provide computerization expertise until such time as additional training and/or personnel have been acquired. * Provide leadership, guidance, and personnel development to a team of up to 50 direct and indirect reports *Minimum Qualifications* * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, Master’s degree preferred. * Minimum of 10 years related experience and 4 years managerial experience. * Previous pharmaceutical aseptic manufacturing experience is required * Ability to accurately communicate ideas, facts and technical information * Maintain confidentiality of certain information #TJP2021_SPEC Why Kelly®?
